It appears that the Tripplite is tripping at a lower amperage in the 11 amp mode, probably around the 5.5amps you are seeing to the coach in absorption.

I would guess the chassis battery was...

I just took a look at the Kisae manual, which I hadn't done in quite while, and they do have a lithium profile that shuts off the charging when complete and then rebulks when needed after...

If you look at their site, they are selling the Progressive Dynamics lithium charger, which if it hasn't changed is just a 14.6v fixed output charger with no float. Current thinking by most lithium...

The chargers that measure only charging amps are actually simpler than the algorithm and/or internal measuring chargers, as they just directly measure the amps that control the charging profile at...

We do know from other chargers that they do an algorithm calculation for absorption time based on starting amps and volts and IIRC some even explained that the calc at startup was to have the charger...

I think the biggest question is if it was the chassis battery in the system extending the bulk stage that made the absorption last longer, or if it did trigger at the particular voltage, or did it...

It does not appear to have gone to float on amps, though, at least not at the same ratio as in 45 amp range.

What is very interesting, and may explain both 11 and 45 readings if it means...

It would be interesting to see, and could be of benefit in getting the batteries full, as it would give a transition amps of about 2.5 amps if the ratio was the same as at 45 amps. Of course, as...

Tripplite used to list the specs in the owners manual for voltage and IIRC for the wet cell setting it was 14.3 or 14.v absorption and 13.5v float. They don't show them anymore and from what we have...

I think that sums up what I had been thinking also for a while. The biggest questions in my mind have been the cutoff point on the amps based charging as we don't really know if taking them all the...

Yep, no real chance of major overcharging while driving, but is too high to be considered float as such and will use water to some extent.

Unfortunately, I would also think there is almost no...

I ran across some MK references also. IIRC they had reduced electrolyte? concentration or some other oddity for special purpose use, and thus had the different charging. I think the manufacturers...

Funny thought concerning a lucky match of use and charging with the Tripplite and alternator.

When we had that, I would find if 50% down the Tripplite would get the batteries to about 85-90%...

13.7v is not ideal but is below the gassing point in most wet cells so not all that bad and will top off batteries faster than a 13.2v float. I think it might be best to watch what the alternator...

Yep, agree on that. IMO amp hour counting to know how far you are discharged is very important in day to day use, and seeing the amps into the batteries the critical thing for current.

If that battery needed charging, which it may not have (or at least not much charging), the 13.5v is way to low for wet cells and would never get them agitated and fully charged. 14.4v is kind of...

I would agree, and add that although you likely were overcharging, maybe from the tripplite, maybe from alternator or solar, good quality wet cells handle overcharging pretty well as long as you do a...
