The whole heater had to come out. it was a little more than I was up for, but I've got a great propane guy nearby- he even had the fan in stock!

Eureka! Found the problem!

The solution was a new fan motor. What was interesting and not quite established was why the fan would start after a long period of inactivity, but not after the...

Suburban heater issue

I thought my Suburban furnace was acting up because of erratic 12V supply but the power's all fixed up and I've still got this symptom:
The furnace will start and run till the thermostat shuts it...
