As far as I know, Sprinters do not use a proximity remote. The only thing in this vein is the NFC/transponder used when the key is near the steering column.

With modern CPUs all having AES built into the chip's instruction set, the encryption/decryption is done before the I/O disk buffer even fills up. With SSDs, they do the encryption on the disk...
