The "rev engine to 2500 rpm for 30 seconds before charging will begin" is a real clue that it is a 1-wire alternator.
That's how you get a 1-wire alternator to start output. More likely only a few...

With an E-Trek, your coach runs off the large battery bank most of the time. Some attention seems to be overly focused on the second alternator but really it is the battery bank that lets it...
