To me, the socket is in the lighting fixture. Were you referring to reversing the lighting fixture socket wires or reversing the bulb?

Usually, when an LED doesn't work in an RV lighting...

Could be reversed + & - wiring at that fixture. LED's require + on the + side and - on the - side.
