Lots of people start down this path. I have yet to see anyone get to the finish line. Lots of tricky details. Plus, automotive A/C systems tend to have very high capacities (because there is plenty...

Those systems tend to be way over-sized (to my taste). I have no desire to make ice cubes in my cabin. If I ever get around to this project, I am going to stick with a small (probably 8K) system with...

The test reported in the video was a straw man. Please read my entire post for a path forward (although I do not doubt that they will eventually get to something like that without my help). Any of...

The space of possible A/C solutions is well trodden--very thorough threads are available on Sprinter Source, as you probably know. The answer is pretty clear: The best practical solution is a...

The fans are needed because space and aesthetic considerations make it difficult to provide for proper convective chimneys without external venting. As a consequence, the back of the cabinet...

I guess you may be right. The column labels on the NovaKool spec sheet are "Interior Volume" and "Freezer Volume". I read that as fridge and freezer volumes, but I guess that may just be gee-whiz...

Well, 40aH/day is low for our big NovaKool. It is rated at 5.2 amps. So, assuming a 50% duty cycle that is more than 62Ah/day. Plus, (a) I actually read somewhat more than 5.2, probably due to a pair...

IMO, there are only two sensible scenarios of RV solar:
1) The folks who enjoy extreme power frugality while camping (I am not critical of these folks--it is as good a hobby as any other). If this...

My Nation's alternator shows an honest 200 amps at normal idle, if the battery is sufficiently discharged to take it. At speed, it will produce approximately the rated 270. I do not have high idle,...
