Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I own a 2013 E-Trek (my first RV) but rarely use the AC. An hour here and there while having lunch on the road or to keep the dog cool while we are in a park visitor center, etc. No surprise that...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Davydd,
Interesting. I think most after market remote starter/alarm systems (at least my NuStart does) have similar safeguards in them. Keyless auto-starting implies reliance on the chassis...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

While we're talking hypothetical, are there going to be scenarios where auto starting the engine might be undesirable at best, or dangerous at worst? I'll assume there there are safeguards in place....

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

If your dogs are priceless, and you've got the budgetary ability to add redundant alternatives, like solar and an Onan generator, in case the batteries aren't cooperating for some reason, I would...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Sounds like the all electric class B RV isn't as easy or ready for prime time as some have made it sound.
I think there are many on here that are interested in your particular setup, as an E-Trek...

FWIW, he also sells Florida Horse Properties ....first entry in the list - seller's name may be Travis John?

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Sort of re-reading this thread and I was wondering, again, has anyone listened to a Sprinter engine at either regular or high idle, and/or used an audio meter to compare the noise level from an...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

The line between humble and arrogant is most often drawn with a market share pencil in the RV world. IMO.

Given the choice, and even assuming that money was no object, I'd still rather have a...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Would be even easier if they used a bus bar to connect them. It's supposed to be a better method for battery charge rate and voltage distribution, than terminal to terminal connections. I read an...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Probably true about the increased interest in the company and the product. Any publicity, good or bad, is good, as they say. The majority of potential customers may not understand or care whether the...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I don't think anyone has figured out how RT is doing that.

Can it (the rapid charging) be accomplished with a regular 3500 watt generator or can it only be done with the under-the-hood generator?...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Interesting indeed. I guess the dealer network must be aware that increasing prices are going to leave some of them with expensive inventory on their lots, over time? I wonder if Roadtrek et al...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I was just re-reading this post and it occurred to me that there are jurisdictions with some fairly strict anti-idling laws on the books. Green house gas emissions, and in some cases, noise pollution...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Your estimates are probably more accurate than mine, which I guessed (conservatively) was at least 400# for batteries, and another 100# + for the roof panels. I hadn't considered the added weight of...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Has anyone figured out the weight added to the chassis by adding all the off grid support stuff? Sorry, but I've lost track. At what point does the conversion process have to consider the maximum...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Honestly, I'm not sure they care about what any of us think, based on past dialogue. I think they've decided/realized that to continue the dialogue with us on the E-Trek, isn't scoring them any...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I'm no engineer, but I do know a condescending pat on the head, when I see, hear, or read one.
Like Mark says, I can't get past the price tag, so it really doesn't matter that much to me, but their...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

That's a new power assist option in the E-Trek's fully adjustable convertible couch/bed, that allows it to be configured into a fully functional padded massage table. The cutout with the black 6"...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

I'd hope for a finished product for that kind of scratch.
Look like a construction zone in some of the photos.
So, no propane at all. Were there solar panels on the roof?
Great photos regardless,...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Maybe someone should tell "Jim"?
Davydd may be right on this one, far too much apparent subterfuge with nothing forthcoming to prove it otherwise. Good evaluation of the "proprietary" comments, too....

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Have you tried sending any of these questions to Service at Roadtrek? They might be more comfortable answering technical queries about a new product, based on their (probable) involvement in the...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Seems like Roadtrek didn't count on a bunch of internet RV junkies with some technical acumen, asking these questions. Or they didn't care, or both. If the information on how it all works and does...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

Your van would be closer to ours in terms of interior volume. I like the twin A/C unit's idea, going as small as possible for the lowest overall energy draw as possible, to do as you suggest, use...

Re: New Roadtrek RS E-Trek

If I were designing my own RV from scratch, it would have a comfortable bed/couch at the rear, and a large toilet/shower/bath area at midships, and the water, propane, and AC/DC electric and battery...
