Re: Need advice about rear shocks
Okay! I had the Bilstein shocks installed Thursday morning without any addon springs... BIG difference! I drove about 100 miles on Friday... a LOT more control, much less wandering. I drove another...

Re: Need advice about rear shocks
I haven't had anything done yet. I decided to stay over another month here (rent is up on Jan 9). I ordered the shocks and got them, but I haven't had them put on yet. But I've been parked at this RV...

When off the grid, I put a stopper in the sink. I wash the least dirty things with running water first. Once the sink has a good amount of water in it, I use it to wash the dirtier stuff. Sometimes I...

Re: Need advice about rear shocks
I stopped by another garage here locally (my bike's rear tire was flat, I needed air.. heh) and I spoke to the mechanic about the shocks. This is roughly what he had to say about it:
"Shocks...

Hardly. I was asking what kind of shocks other people have used and liked. Why is that so freaken hard for people to understand? I ask very simple, direct questions. It's not that hard to figure out....

No, it's not missing a stud. The axle end (like shown below) is sticking out and is hiding the other lugnut. In fact it has all new studs on the rear. ...

Take a look at what I have now in the two photos below. There is hefty leaf spring packs, coil helper springs for the leaf springs, plus coils over the shocks. I suspect it's all original from the...

Need advice about rear shocks
Okay... here's the deal. My 1978 Dodge B300 chassis Class B probably has the original shocks on the rear. They have a helper spring attached to them. I bought a pair of Monroe Magnum-RV shocks to...

Re: Low electric use air conditioning
Perhaps the efficiency is why they don't bother with them. They would freeze up badly too eventually. Think about how RV fridges are not frost free. They eventually ice up badly and you have to shut...

I suppose so but i was thinking things that don't cost very much... like my example of pencils.

It's meant to be a fun/goofy thread! :) It's about something people take for granted everyday but that you find to be invaluably useful in everyday life. And the smaller and more simple it is, the...

I don't have one yet but will get one when I can afford to. I may get the plug in kind. I am considering doing a slight mod to my original 30A cord anyway. It has about a 20ft cable hard wired...

Common everyday objects you like
I was thinking today about how much I like pencils. I find I prefer use a pencil for note taking more than I do a pen anymore. It's something most people take for granted but they are far superior to...

Horrible tragedy waiting to happen. A slew of very young kids not seat belted down while driving down the highway. And they were stupid enough to blaster it all over national TV. Even the baby isn't...

Has anyone used speed bleeder valves? I have done brake work on several autos and scooters and the thing I hate most (besides drum brakes) is trying to bleed brakes.
My current vehicle has been...

It beats me how they could fit 2 batteries under the hood. There is ZERO space in my 78 for another battery under the hood. Of course it has a 360, not a 318... but still.

Re: 97 Dodge B2500 bottoming out.
Glad to hear.
I will have to go about 60 miles (one way) to get to the nearest spring shop to get my leaf springs serviced. I think they may need to be redone (new center pins, clips, perhaps...

Re: 97 Dodge B2500 bottoming out.
2800 in the back sounds too light. My 78 B3500 has a LOT heavier in the rear. I can't remember the exact numbers but the front has a 3300lb axle (not actually that much weight on it, around 2800 I...

Re: Propane Leak? Ran out of Propane? You decide!
This kind of thing is why I'm glad mine is one that has a bay for two 20lb tanks. Much easier (and possibly safer) to deal with. Some of the (later?) Xplorers had a fixed tank, which sounds like what...
