Default Stove cover / tray

I put this tray / stove cover together yesterday using some scrap plywood that I'd had on hand.

Glue and brad nails hold it all together and it seems very strong. If i were to do it again I probably attach the sides to the perimeter of the tray bottom. I just didn't think of doing it that way when I cut all the pieces.

It will do double duty, serving as a tray to carry things in and out of the van and also giving us a bit more counter space in the van when covering the stove. I'll give some thought to figuring a way to secure it there so it doesn't become a projectile when the van is moving if we had to brake really hard. I could just keep it in a cupboard when traveling.

DW primed it and put one coat of white paint on it today.
I think it will be useful to have.

Nice! Looks like a good job of wood working & very versatile to do double duty.

I was going to make a cover just like that for my old 2005 Pleasure-way Plateau that had the open stove top. Then I noticed Target Stores sold a plastic serving tray that was almost the exact dimensions except it had rounded corners. So I simply notched out the corners as you can see in the photo to make it fit.

Most all new Class Bs have the Dometic stove top or similar with the hinged glass cover that is flush with the counter top.

A tray is more useful than a cover.

All done. I glued some leftover cushion flooring to the bottom and inside. I had to shave off a bit of wood where the tray met the rubber feet on the stove. It fits really tight, almost snaps in place.

Both covers are nice. Thought I might throw in a possible idea though. While it is a nice flat top for cutting or something if you put a short side facing up you can put items in it and they won't roll off while driving. But then of course everyone is probably more neater and organized than i am with 50 million things falling off my counter.

Je ne suis pas Francais, mais j'ai essaye de faire le meilleur de les ans dans mon ecole secondaire etude
de Francais.
In other words, I like trying some very rudimentary French once in a while. The Ontario primary and
secondary schools were nice enough to teach it, and I try it sometimes in practical usage.
More often when travelling around Gaspe, PQ and parts of New Brunswick over the last 3 years.
Sometimes it works, and sometimes I need the help of Google translate or Babelfish for forgotten
nouns and verb tenses. I try to write it, before I translate it, to see how far off I am.
Sometimes it's pretty funny.

Ok, I guess.
Je veux utiliser "de bien sur" aussi pour les mots "of course".
n'est ce pas possible ?

You bilinguals crack me up. We here in S.W. USA have enough trouble with everyday English. And most won't even attempt Spanish - it comes out Spanglish when I try. Buenas Dias Ya'all!
One of my Great, Great Grandfathers was French/Canadien from Quebec.
Sur-name was Fouche', but was changed when he stole horses from the British & ran to Minnesota. Last name in French now rhymes with 'ROBAER'... And we never did attach an "S" to the end.
Bon Soir, Adios... Ric. in Ariz.

Ha ha ha ha that's funny. Calling me a "bilingual".
My French is lousy, but I try it when it might help get my point across, or speed up my food order,
or just get some respect from the folks in Quebec when we travel there.
The last reason, I believe, is the one that has served me the best. Even if you sound like an illegal
alien speaking broken French to them, many people who speak it fluently appreciate the attempt.
I know I respect the French speaking people we've met out east, that attempt a little English.
I figure the worst that can happen is, the situation gets even more confused, and I suddenly
feel really dumb. Luckily, I'm used to that.

My wife laughed when she read that. She's fully bilingual.
Me - I'm having a difficult time learning. I took some lessons last year and need to repeat that class.

(Wow, way off-topic here!)
