Exclamation Brrrrrr - need hot water heater!

I have a 1977 Dodge Xplorer 307 - 400 / 8 cylinder motor. She's just the Xplorer - not Xtravaganza or anything. I'm only the 3rd owner and she only has.... ready..... 42K miles! It was GIVEN to me by my mom and stepdad. I am about to be living in her (hopefully by this weekend). I just learned last night that the HOT WATER HEATER doesn't work! EEEK! So, I'm in search of one. I have the original manual (a God send but I don't have it with me right now. I will add the details of the hot water heater later today. Any/all suggestions vastly appreciated! I'm going to rehab her and keep her retro - but retro hippie, not retro Brady Bunch. Any suggestions on remodeling will also be appreciated!

Propane-fired water heaters have been an RV fixture for decades. You shouldn't have a problem finding a replacement that should slip right in, if that's what you need.

Meanwhile: heat your water on the stove! (Only a problem when it comes to a shower.)

Lightbulb Need a Motor Aid Heat Exchanger

I have figured out that I need a Motor Aid Heat Exchanger - Radiant Circulation or 115 volt AC electricity. *No mechanical parts.

Looks like this is what you need. Suburban 5094A Electronic Ignition DSI with Electric and Motor Aid Heat Exchanger 6 Gallon Water Heater RV Parts

This is the most expensive RV water heater I have ever seen!

Considering the rig is 40 years old, I'd go cheaper -- propane only. $100 less at that same source.
(assuming op's rig has propane!)
