Default Southern Florida in February, Where Stay?

We are heading to Southern Florida next month. Heading to the Keys and Everglades areas for part of the trip. It looks like most campgrounds are full in the popular areas, especially Key West. Any suggestions on finding a place for the night in a B?

I should add that I am OK boondocking most anywhere as long as it is safe.

I found the same thing last year when I was trying to make reservations. We ended up cancelling the trip for a different reason. I think the farthest South that I could make reservations for was Jonathan Dickinson State Park on the Atlantic side and Oscar Scherer State Recreation Area on the Gulf side. I had left it too late for reservations in the southernmost parts of Florida. I wasn't sure about just going and hoping to find places to stay as we had not been there before. Hopefully anyone who has boondocked near the Keys will offer some advice.

I've been told by a BEE Social couple who spends their winters in a B on the Keys is that you have to be ready at the stroke of midnight on the first day they accept reservations to make a state park reservation in the Keys. Boondocking evidently is not easy in Florida. I've heard they don't allow overnights at Walmarts for instance. We vacationed in Florida in October and managed to find state park sites in the Keys. We will be there again this late March/April, but we've made no reservations.
