According to that article I can rest easy that lithium batteries are pretty much my choice on my theoretical future travels. Maybe a Millennial will have a different anticipation.

I investigated the Efoy hydrogen fuel cell system and concluded that even if it was here today the system was too bulky for a B even at their 210ah setup, imo. Most of the others are for fixed storage and not suitable for a moving van.

We have had 9+ kW-hrs on our 5th wheel for 4.5 years and 4.5+ kW-hrs on Roadtrek for 1.25 years and are completely satisfied.

We can give more information on experiences if desired

Reed,

I have an 800ah lithium ion battery setup already in our Advanced RV. It is nearly 3 years old. They used the GBS batteries from Elite Power Solutions in Tempe, AZ. They are still building that system but they are testing a 48 volt Volta lithium ion system that could be their next generation.

None of those 10 systems cited are going to supplant lithium ion in the time period I expect to be RVing.

800 Ah at 12 V nominal is basically what we have on 5th wheel, 9+ kW-hrs. Our fifth wheel systems has battery suite at 48 V nominal (4 Manzanita Micro batteries in series). Power comes from panels at 90 V so a much smaller controller can be used. The LFP world should be changing rapidly with new chemistries/physics at work. Prices should be going down capability to operate at a much wider temperature range is developing. We are 77 so doubt we shall be going anything more advanced.

We are bird watchers and nature lovers. Not running a generator means that birds and animals are far more likely to "visit". We enjoy quiet and solitude and primarily boondock at "dispersed" sites on BLM and Forest Service lands
