Default Anti theft module

I have a friend here in Canada who has a 2002 road trek poplar that won’t start. She had it at the dodge dealer for 3 months before they came up with the the theft module was no good and they could not find a replacement. Is there a way of bypassing this module to start the engine. Or anybody have a good idea to get her on the road.

if that is a "roadtrek" module hopefully someone will know how to bypass it- it is marked in any way, maker, model # etc.

If a dodge part, check more dodge specific forums.

That IS a dodge part number

internet shows no longer available from chrysler, but there may be an updated model available- you need a dodge specialist

and a high failure item, which is used for many functions beyond anti-theft

good tip to pull fuse #13 and then test again

( note that 315 MhZ radio frequency can cause this to fail...like added CB radio*)

If the Dodge dealer can't sort it out she is either screwed completely or at the wrong dodge dealer

dealers tend to hire new techs right out of school, short on experience and with book learning of model from recent years only

I'd start calling around

I do not know IF that diagnosis is truly the problem and if the module is a straight swap or it it needs to be programmed

*the mobil speed pass gas pump often interferes with Harley modules and the bike has to be pushed away to start it up

reading up this failure is common and the "dodge" forums are full of complaints, tests and remedies

the module controls more than just the anti-theft

the van owner can find out for themselves by searching
