The 18650 descriptor refers to the physical size of a cell.

18650 = 18mm x 65mm
26650 = 26mm x 65mm
18500 = 18mm x 50mm

Etc.

Generally, larger size means greater capacity.

This - https://www.reddit.com/r/electronics...hts_and_album/ - is a tear-down of an older Valence U27-12XP (black case).

He found 400 x 18650 type cells inside. 4 batteries x 400 cells = 1,600 cells. Newer Valence U27-12XP might be different.

OK, I see the number refers to the type of cell and not the number of cells. One commenter said four banks of cells in that battery so I guess my read out was four banks (of cells) referred to as cells and not individual cells in each battery referred to as modules in my read out. I get the temperature of the batteries broken down in pretty good detail real time and can see if connected with some load and charging or not is a few degrees above ambient (room temperature of my garage). I can see the effects of using more battery load while camping with continual readouts. These readouts were taken at the same time. The garage was 60F and the batteries averaged 66F while while winding down charging.

My batteries are green and look more like what Will Prowse tore apart.
