Default BMS charge question

I may be buying a new BMS. I now have a 150A BMS that may be bad, 280A battery and 280A 2nd alternator. Im currently using a Renology 60A DC2DC converter to charge the battery, all has been in about 2 years.

I was thinking of moving up to a 300A BMS and dumping the Renology but I see all that I have found that the charge current is limited to 150A.

Does that mean the BMS will shut down if the charge current rises above 150A?

I suspect that the answer to this would be dependent on the make, model and version of the particular BMS.
