Default Isolator and Converter

I am in need of advice. I have an older 1991 Ford Econoline van conversion which has a battery isolator and an on board converter that was professionally installed. The issue I am having is that my house
batteries are not charging from the isolator, they only charge when I am plugged into shore power. I have replaced the isolator with the exact one that was originally installed thinking that was the issue, but still not charging. Only the information I can find is for isolators that are hooked directly to the house batteries. Any ideas what the issue maybe?

3 pole or 4 pole isolator? 4 pole would be ignition switched.

Also, maybe a fuse or breaker downstream of the isolator (if it has one) is blown

It is a 4 post, however, only 3 posts are used. I am not sure what you mean by the ignition switched? Can you please provide a little more info, as it sounds like you know alot more than me!!

Thanks!

I can't say I fully understand it but needing a 3 pole or 4 pole (with "E" post) depends on different makes and different model year requirements.

This link provides some good info about the excitation wire:

I don't know if that could be the cause of the problem or not.

Thank you for the information. I have changed the connections around per the diagram. We are heading out for a 3 week trip to visit our son, hopefully this will work!
