Default Isolator died for a 2001 RoadTrek

Hi all,

My isolator for my 2001 Dodge Roadtrek 190 Versatile went out, and I’m trying to figure out how to get a new one. Does anyone have models and makes they recommend? Where can I find the right isolator for the job?

Many thanks!

I went with a Blue Sea 7610 to lose the voltage drop and gain automatic two way battery charging.

The usually older diode type battery isolators ( mine is a surepower 16023A) by the nature of didoes will drop voltage from the typical 14.7 volts put out by the alternator to about 13.4 volts.

an FET or other type may retain close to full voltage on pass through.

if mine died today I would likely look at the Victron Argofet series for about $100~$120

Interesting the Victron doesn't give the resting and activated current ratings for those units, as many marine and RV people consider that quite important, especially when they have solar.

As long as we are voting I would replace it with an identical diode type isolator. Works fine.

This is the thread I need! The isolator in my 2007 C 210P has not worked since I bought it 2 years ago. Today, I had a friend help me change out the 2 circuit breakers on it, but it still doesn't charge my house batteries. I know there is one more circuit breaker in the back by the battery box, which I have to change out as well. If this does not solve the issue, is the next step a new isolator?

You should be able to check whether the isolator is working by starting the engine and checking the voltage on the three posts. If the side posts have 13.5 volts and the center has a bit more it is working.

The aft circuit breaker should be near the battery contactor in the electric bay.
