Default Onan won't shut off with remote

I have a 1996 PleasureWay with the Onan 2800 and standard remote control panel. The generator starts and stops using the button on the generator. The generator starts, but does not stop using the remote control panel. I thought the easiest solution was to replace the switch.
I bought a replacement switch Kit#300-4936. The old switch has 5 wires ( 1-orange,2-white,3-yellow,5-red,6-purple) and the new switch has only four white leads(SW-2 to J2-1,SW-1 to J2-2,SW-3 to J2-3, SW-8 to J2-6, and a jumper SW-7 to SW-2).
Does anyone know the correct sequence to wire the 5 wires from the old switch to the 4 wires of the new switch ?
thanks

Wow. The new connections are obviously designed to plug into a similar connection which is why they didn't bother with color-coded wires. If you can't return it and find a closer replacement, it will be very difficult.

All I can do is provide the Onan wiring diagram (Pic#1) for my replacement model #028-00022 (different from yours, but a few year's newer design). Looks like they wired the jumper into the new connection.

Airstream wire colors on my rv are different than what the Onan diagram shows (Pic#2). Luckily the replacement had the same number of blade connections in the same pattern, so I just did a plug & play replacement.

Edit: I ordered a complete control panel with start button/hour meter because it was as cheap or cheaper than just the hour meter (which is what failed on mine).

I had the same problem and found that it was the start button on the generator was sticking in the start position preventing the remote start button from functioning
