Default VS30 Coach Battery Maintenance

My 2019 Sprinter 3500xd is in winter storage in a climate controlled garage in CT I try to drive it once a month to keep it happy, but when I went to configure it into Standby mode after sitting for three weeks, it returned a message that the battery was too low. My question is whether i can connect a trickle charger using the under hood post and not have to connect directly to the AGM battery. This would be much simpler than the hassle of accessing the battery in the drivers compartment and I would rather not disconnect the battery which would erase my MBUX configurations.

Also, my house 200ah lithium batteries are not disconnected.

Any input would be appreciated.

Yes - you can trickle charge via the under hood connections. They are there for jump starting and will work to charge your vehicle battery.

If the climate controlled garage where you store your van has power available it would be good to just leave a trickle charger connected while in storage.

Are you sure? That is unusual in these days of flash memory. I know nothing about the VS30, but our NCV3 loses nothing when the battery is disconnected.

My under hood connections for chassis battery charging work well. I hard-wired instead of using alligator clips.

I used a Schumacer SP1297 3A charger/maintainer which seemed to work ok. Charger went into maintenance mode when the battery voltage was at 12.3v
