Default Chevrolet Electrical Manual - 2008 G/H Full Size Van

Had to split due to file size.
The Part 1 has a bunch of good mechanical drawings and color codes for applicable connections.
Part 2 is for the most part schematics of the electrical system.

Enjoy.
Cheers - Jim

As suspected, it looks like you have PCM controlled field as no internal regulator is shown in the schematic.

Here is a screenshot of our 07 charging system. Note the internal regulator.

As far as I know this make running parallel a lot more difficult, if it can be done at all without causing a bunch of other faults out of the PCM.

Thanks Jim,

Does anyone know if the 2007 model is exactly the same?

2008 did have some changes, but I don't know how many or what. I particular the engine hp/tq changed and I think it went to variable valve timing. It changed to fly by wire in 2007 so that would be different than earlier ones. 2008 models are also known for having fairly large parasitic losses that kill the battery quickly when not driven so something changed in that area.

As always make sure you go by chassis year and model, not the RV year which might be different.
