Default First Time Class B Owners

Hi! hubby and I are excited (and a little nervous) about getting out in our 2015 Pleasure-way Plateau TS. Just purchased - after many years of camping - from pup tents to pull trailers. We live in Ab Canada so mostly travel Alberta and BC but hope to expand our horizons now. We are looking forward to the numerous benefits of this kind of RV travel! Great to have a group like this to resource What do you like best about RVing in a camper van?

our advantages are always going to be MPG, parking and a ease of driving, comes with a penalty of space and cost per sq foot ( or meter).

Our van is a 2006 Pleasure-Way Lexor TD ( 2nd owner) and we have done a bunch of overnight quick trips to parks or lakes, a few weekends and 2 month long trips.

I sent alot of time in our drive way figuring out all the systems ( youtube helped alot!)

Our van is sized well for the 2 of us and dog.
when in the campground there may be some envy of the 40' triple slide outs etc...but that goes away fast when driving a twisty road on the coast or mountains- and at the gas pump.

We had a wonderful July on the Oregon coast in 2016
Not sure about this year- my work schedule varies-

Welcome aboard with your new home. We all had to become acquainted with our new "home" on wheels. Pulling into a space, making a sandwich or salad, having that cup of fresh coffee or tea.....superb. Enjoy that P/W and keep them wheels a rolling!

Congratulations!

What's been said above, PLUS the fact it is really the ONLY RV that allows for convenient day trips and multiple uses. Nothing is as easy to jump in and use (anytime, anywhere for any reason) as a Class B.

Welcome to the B-van community!

I agree with Scott - I use my van as a second vehicle when at home and not traveling. I have a large driveway behind my townhouse that allows me to keep my van in my driveway.

Oregon Coast is on our bucket list! We Are hoping Rufus, our Brittany Spaniel will fit in to the new camping style. It'll be an adjustment as he's always slept in the truck and seldom came into the trailer. Guess we'll see. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

we loved Oregon- if you like boondocking "campskunk" has a blog and good tips- google

our fave location was washburne SP south of yachats- no res. campground. we also like waldport ( KOA) and brookings has Harris beach SP.
even if signs are out saying campground full stop and ask.
oregon updates res system at about 11 am and releases cancellations, and at about 7pm releases holds for "no-shows". they also hold disabled sites for disabled- but will release late
washburne being no res is first come- most campers depart at 9am...
easy to stage up at the beach parking lot and grab a spot- if campground is full, Casino in Florence offers rv overnights.

wide flat windy beaches expect 15~20ºC

we leave our bed made up and our dog spends much time there, we also have a dog bed between the front seats- lots of heat off the floor so I have reflectix under the bed.
