Plan on using my Campervan (20') to attend mostly dance functions in cities I am not familiar with. I am looking for tips to avoid camp ground fees. I believe the term is "boondocking"

there are websites and apps ( I use rvparky) which list various locations- there is also street parking ( "stealth") or walmart/truck stop/ rest stop options.

In my van I find I can grab a nice nap esp in the daytime without being bothered at rest stops...I open the forward door to the head, and that gives me privacy in the back. don;t have to cover the front windows a hall mark of "camping"

I like Allstays Camp & RV app because it includes all sorts of campsites that I wouldn't know about otherwise. For example, it includes campsites run by the Army Corps of Engineers, places open only to Elks Club members, campsites just for current or former military, truck stops, etc.
