I'll have my wife show her friends that over-the-top #1 entry from Shanghai.

I must say, though, I'm kind of intrigued by the #4 WoodVans Moto, that claims it can sleep and seat four people and still has room for a garage. That's some impressive use of space in a 21 foot vehicle.

The Woodvans was a bit vague as to where all four would sleep unless it was a Bob, Carol, Ted and Alice situation. The van finish was impressive but seemed to be a weekender recreation van instead of tourer that I want. Does Europe sell vans without second row seating for four people?

I don't know what to say about that Chinese van. That was something else but we will never see it here and I seriously wonder if it was way overloaded to be built here as an imitation version.

We go to such great lengths to enjoy the great outdoors, without being... outdoors.

Davydd, I wish you would warn me before posting something like that. I'm going to be cleaning spit coffee off my wall now!

Well, it is a European van... Who knows what they get up to in there?

On a serious note, everybody's use case is different, but I have to say, on my maiden voyage I am really appreciating the Creature Comforts available in my Ascent as I drive long distances to those beautiful Outdoors.

Default price of the campers

Seems the Europeans give you a great deal, like 30-40% less than similar US product for your dollar with the van type campers, or am I missing something

Yes, you are, 30-40% lower prices, I am missing them too. Manufacturing technologies in EU are more advance, about 15 years ahead of NA according to this report. Higher volumes would allow investment in R&D and manufacturing closer to automotive level, but mom and pop like manufacturing is still prevailing here even by large companies.

I had big hopes that Hymer (Thor) and Rapido/Westfalia (Roadtrek) to bring European school of thought here but am not sure it will happen, perhaps COVID caused a delay.
