Default Absorption Fridge Only

I don't recall reading about anyone removing the freezer stuff from an absorption fridge/freezer - fridge only. Anyone done this? Know anything about it?

Why would they do it unless they only want to keep stuff in a state of refrigeration but not frozen.

Having a 3 way unit that is limited in firepower in hotter temperatures by using both the freezer & fridge for one sole purpose, might be a stroke of genius in that it allows them to crank it up but not have to worry with two functions.
