Default Air ride - bag leak?

My driver's side bag has a leak. Every week or so I have to air the driver's side back up.

Have any of you made this repair? Is it a matter of just patching the bag? If so, is it DIY or should I take it to a Firestone?

1997 Dodge 3500 Pleasureway

Thanks!

Mark

The leak could be in many places, even if it is through the rubber a successful fix is unlikely. These air bags are not expensive to replace and it is best to replace it with a one from the original manufacturer, there are not many of them.

Air bags leaks are probably found most often in the hose connections or hoses themselves, although bags do also fail. Many of the push type connectors are very poor quality, and even the best ones will leak if the hoses are free to bounce at all. Slow leaks can be very hard to find, if they are not in the bag itself where it is easier to see them.

Many bags have a lifetime warranty, if you have the original paperwork.
