Default Awesome!

Yesterday my wife and I left central Georgia to North Carolina with our 200 pound wolfhound to pick up our new puppy a Cane Corso. The pick up time was for noon so an early departure was dictated. We got up at four am and got on the road in our 2013 Road trek Ranger RT and headed out for our first real trip in her with the intention of spending the night somewhere along the coast at a beach. We arrived at 12:15 meet our new baby and covered all the amenities with the breeder. When we left we headed south for Myrtle beach with the idea of spending the night but after a stop to give the dogs and us a break the Nats we’re driving us crazy. A short discussion later that idea was canceled and I headed home. I drove just under nine hundred miles that day and since I am an old fart ( 71 ) that was quite a feat but not in our Roadtrek. She is on a Chevy 3500 frame with 6.0 engine. The fuel mileage was fantastic with the onboard computer reading 16.7 mpg and I was hauling butt at 75 mph and sometimes over 80. The handling was excellent as well as comfort, we are in love with her!

I agree the 6.0L Chevys are awesome. Just because they will do 900 miles in a stint, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Please don't do that again.

I did 2300 miles in 2.5 days to get ours home from MD to AZ, mostly around 65 mph (18.7 mpg indicated, 18.3 calculated). Sometime you just do what has to be done.

Skyman, glad yours is all you were hoping for! Best wishes for many happy travels (at a gentler pace)!

That was a trip! and yes sometimes you do what has to be done. Doing that many miles in a day is certainly not the norm as our coaches are for our enjoyment and seeing new places.
Rowiebowie each of us have different capabilities and while I do appreciate your input if the need arises for a long day we will handle it. Our Roadtrek is An awesome machine and perfect for us and we are looking forward to many more adventures.

Here are a couple of pictures of our puppies. The white one is our 200 pound Irish wolf hound. He has been our baby for five years now and does fill up some space in our Roadtrek lol.

I have same issue with pics.

even if I rotate them 90º and then upload they still appear sideways ( or upside down)

My husband once did 3,000 miles in 3 days. That's exactly when I stopped allowing him to drive alone.

Adorable pups. My 2 are 13.5#s each. And I thought I had a problem with them in my Sportsmobile Sprinter (170wb).

If I rotate the camera and then take a photo, it will display correctly. If I rotate it after the fact, it still seems to come out sideways.
