Default Can I stand on the Roof, Xplorer 228

I just purchased a 1984 Dodge Xplorer 228, great condition. The roof is fiberglass but seems weakly built. Thinking of investing in a ladder for roof access but not sure if it will support my weight. Any insight?

Welcome to the forum!

We're being taken over by Xplorer owners, at least based on the past week.

I went on the roof of my parents 1982 Xplorer 228 and it seemed solid. But that was almost 40 years and 50lbs. ago when I only weighed about 135lbs. soaking wet.

I would be cautious and gradually place weight on yours before doing what I did. If you feel any flex, that would be a sign to not go further without the support of a thin sheet of plywood to distribute the weight of your hands and knees.
