Default Communicating with back seat.

Our grandchildren are almost old enough to go with us on short trips. However, in our PW Excel it is very hard (other than shouting) to talk to people in back seat. Has anyone come up with an easy solution to this problem?

Believe it or not, our new Toyota Highlander's entertainment system has such a feature, using the built-in microphone (It is a one-way "voice of God" thing, though).

Maybe some aftermarket head unit has it too?

Wow thanks! I will try to find out about them. Now that you have said it I think I have seen motorcylists wearing them. A cell phone won't work because often we don't have cell service.

Default Thinsulate

I have no issues communicating in our 144” WB Sprinter, it is fully insulated with Acoustic Thinsulate by 3M. A lot of work to install it on a finished van but benefits are great.

We bought some cheap walkie-talkies for our 99 Dodge Roadtrek. One in front, one in back. Works for us.

Thanks I think we will give walkie talkies a try. I also asked my hi tech neighbour and he said they use them at their cabin. He told us we can get the kind where you don't have to hold a button to answer which would make it work for the driver. (BC law, hands free only).

It made me realize that they would also come in handy for other things when we spend a week at the beach with our daughter's family.
