replacement seems to be an issue with older pick ups and vans

keep seeing posts

perhaps associated with chryslers multiple changes in ownership, some accountant decided to not stock parts for or support older vehicles

Check as many online forums as you can and maybe someone will have a clue....junkyards...

Study the location the module is mounted. If you can find a location where it would be cooler, move it via an adapter pigtail to give you that ability speciall the new one. If not possible, shield it from the heat generators, but do make sure the module itself gets cooling air flow. In one of my rigs I moved it and the unreliable ecm became reliable. I then went further and added some aluminum cooling fins on the case to further give it better cooling! It was mounted very close to the exhaust manifold when the buckets of bolts RV folks moved it from where the manufacturer had placed it!

ECMs are specific to engine ....

Try modulemadness on EBay. First check with a Dodge dealer to get the current revision letter for your model year.

Why are you replacing the ECM?

are you sure it s a bad ECM ? before spending $$$$ check for and correct the corrosion on the ECM ground wire at the frame, which bad ground interrupts the ignals from the ECM and can give all kinds of problems in fuel supply and even lead to a dread P300 MIL code for 'random engine cylinder misfire.'

Any module will probably have to be reprogrammed/reflashed.

Default can't reprogram or relearn bad ecu s or cCkp s...

reprogramming a bad ecu doesn''t work. neither does 'relearning' a bad crankcase position sensor. it's throwing good money away .

You are correct...I was referring to any new ECM to the vehicle.
