Default Green Moss on RV.

Hello again, I forgot to mention this in my previous post, I moved from KC MO, to Port Charlotte, Fl 1 1/2 yr ago, a few months after I had back surgery by a quack, & now I'm wheelchair bound. Now my PW Excel has developed this kind of green moss on the sides, ( never had this happened before ) I just got hand controls installed on it, & got a power washer to clean it, can someone tell me what to use, (cleaner wise), I got something @ Walmart that's supposed to clean black streaks, would this do trick? The sides of the van actually look green. Thanks for your help. Louie.

I noticed a little green mildew on my American Cruiser around the back entry door. We always have a dispenser of Clorox Wipes in the van and they wiped it right off. If you have a lot of it, you might want to mix a little bleach in a bucket of water an wipe it with a rag. Our last home was in the trees and the siding that was always in the shade used to get mildew as well and that is how we cleaned it. You might want to test a spot first to make sure it won't bother the paint.

I'd try the black streak remover. Clorox type products usually have that corrosive product warning on them.
I had an RV cover start looking green from moss. I washed it with some product I picked up from an RV shop - I can't remember what it was though.

Moss or algae need something wet and organic to grow on—they're both plants. On a vehicle, this usually means that there's dirt on the outside. When the dirt gets wet, or when it stays moist, these plants can start growing. Besides eliminating them with some sort of chemical, you need to get rid of the dirt that they love. After that, a good coat of wax will prevent water from staying on the surface very long. Call your local auto parts store to find something that will kill the green stuff without damaging the paint.

My old VW Beetle was white but as it got older, it got brown rust and green algae spots. Colorful, yes. Pretty, no.
