Default Hitch receiver for 1993 Roadtrek

Hi
I am the new owner or a 1993 210 Popular Roadtrek. It's been well taken care of with only 93,xxx mile on, but it lacks a hitch. I've looked almost everywhere, but have been unsuccessful in my search. I was thinking about a custom bumper with the hitch built in, but a off the shelf receiver would be less expensive I think.
It has the storage (trunk) under there and I would like to not modify it.
So anyone have information on how to go about getting a hitch for it?

Thanks for the info.
By chance did you find a hitch listed that fits my 1993 Chevy 210 Roadtrek?
The one you listed will interfere with the trunk.

You likely won't find one that won't interfere. Hitches are made for vans/cars/trucks that are unmodified from the factory. If one exists, Roadtrek may have custom made them at one point. You could try them, it wouldn't hurt.

Another option is a ball mounted on the bumper which may necessitate a new bumper, but I don't think that's the way you want to go.

Yeah, a ball on the bumper will not work.
I want to mount my Stowaway2.
I'll go to the wrecking yard and see what I can find and modify it.
I thought someone had been down this road before, but I guess not.

.

1993 210 Popular Roadtrek has a very long extension to the frame.

I don't think it is a good idea to carry a Stowaway2.

RT probably did not put a hitch there for a reason.

Back in 1993 I suspect a hitch receiver was an option. It was with my 2005 Pleasure-way. It hasn't been until recent years (last decade) that converters made hitch receivers pretty much standard items.

You could consider mounting it to the front...

I installed, with a few mods, a 1987 Chevy van hitch. It bolted right up after a slight mod to the Roadtreks trunk. This hitch is a bolt together design, using 1/2" bolts, so I redrilled the mounting plates to raised the receiver so it would be even with the bottom of the trunk. This caused an interference with mounting the license plate, but I'm going to mount it on the stowaway2 anyway. I'll have to trim a little off the bottom of the plate when I remove the stowaway2.
There is no name on this hitch, but it come in three parts. Two mounting plates that bolts to the frame after removing the bumper brackets. These takes their place and the bumper bolts up the same. The other part is the 2" receiver bar that bolt to the plates. The third image is the small hole so the bracket can be mounted. It was closed up after installation.

It is good to hear you have found a solution.

Please don't be offended, but read the last two sentences in my last post.

Thanks for the reply. The explanation did not click during the first read.

Thanks again.

Glad you found a solution. If I may offer a suggestion that I would do, but is probably not necessary. I would tack weld the bolts on.

It may be overkill, but I'm a sucker for safety.
