House Battery Dead

Greetings all,
Last season, I pulled both batteries from my 1992 RoadTrek Independent 190. After taking them in to be charged up, I was told the engine battery is fine, but the house/cab battery is dead and needs to be replaced. I live in southwestern Ontario, Canada. Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement?

I cant really recommend a battery brand due to the fact that everyone has there favorites. You should look for a battery that has the most amp hours available in your price range, look for a true deep cycle battery and not a starting battery that you would use for the engine. You will have lots to choose from, others will chime in here soon.

if you have an up to date 3 step converter charger i would get agm-lifelines come to mind

I have Interstate Megatron 65(I think) deep cycle house battery. Very good and no problems when it gets low on juice. Get highest amp model available. Many brands are similar. Check electolyte levels regularly with deep cycle batteries to prevent early cell deterioration.

Not sure how long I am going to keep my RoadTrek 190 Independent. In addition, I generally do not camp off power and when I do, I hardly use the lights, microwave, or fridge. So, given that, would anyone recommend just a cheap standard battery with an adapter for the additional posts/terminals? Any thoughts?

You can buy an inexpensive lead acid wet cell battery but it should be a deep cycle marine type battery. Mine are still going strong after 4 years

You can buy a cheap, say Canadian Tire battery, deep cyle marine but, for me, especially if you dry camp and/or use your rv in cold weather, I would buy a good quality high amp battery as it wont cost that much more. Best to try and keep it fairly charged up too.
