Default I saw a red Travato in the wild today!

I actually spotted one today on my way home from work. He was heading north on SR 711 in western Pennsylvannia.
I wonder if it was one of us? Surely it was a 59G.

My dealer just got a raft of Travatos in. One is a deisel (silver) and one is red. He's got a couple with the roof and bike racks.
He'd love to sell me a red one. No 59K's yet.

I'm warming up to the idea of a red van. The one I saw on the road today looked pretty good.

Saw one from a distance a couple weeks ago in Florida. It sure stuck out...the jury is out for us on the color

It would be interesting to take the diesel for a test drive to see how feels compared to the gasser. I haven't heard of anyone actually having driven one.

I may do that this weekend. If I do, I'll report back.

The guys on the Ram ProMaster forum report that it's a pretty much completely different experience in the diesel. The transmission is really, really different. Of course that's from us never having anything like it here in North America. Some like it, some hate it. I suspect the haters have already made up their minds before the drive and/or don't want to take the time to get used to it. The trans can be manually shifted, and reports say that makes it a quicker and smoother shift.
Several users are reporting check engine lights with dealers that don't have a clue what to do with the issue. One guy's van has been in the shop for a month waiting for emission system parts for the diesel. They did give him a loaner van though...

I don't think you'd get a loaner Travato But they might loan you a delivery van.

The red color looks nice. I thinks it's the combination of the red with black and chrome.

Here are the 59G and 59K floor plans together for comparison:

The 59G looks good for a family with two kids or for someone who wants to carry bikes or other cargo inside or if you want a 4 seats up front vehicle.

The 59K looks good if you want a wide entrance and easy to get in or out of beds. Stand up shower looks roomy for a Class B.

Part of me likes the open easy living 59K and part of me likes the idea of the cargo space and being able to take another couple along on day trips or simple overnights in the 59G.

I looked at an new 59G today. They had a diesel and the gas models - I'll post about that in another thread.

I like the changes that I saw in the 59G. The higher bed accommodates a bigger bin in the back. Plus there is extra storage in drawers now. So I can see putting a bigger/tall bin in the back for your sundries and maybe leaving the cargo box at home. I'm really tempted to trade up.
