Default Ignition short in 2004-5 Rialta

I am occasionally unable to start my Rialta - the starter and battery are fine/new. There seems to be a short in the steering wheel/ignition system (sometimes I can remedy the problem by juggling the steering wheel). It's an erratic and random event - I can go for months with normal startup, and then it won't start. I have had to use jumper cables to get it to start, after which it's normal starting again. Related issue - the LP monitor will randomly go off, apparently sensing the battery is low (but probably just sensing the ignition short). I've had mechanics look at the issue with no luck. Has anybody experienced this problem with a Rialta - it can be pretty annoying, especially when stranded in the boondocks!

As a former Rialta owner, this was a problem lots of owners had. The solution was to have the ignition switch replaced. On the Groups.IO site (join) you can fine out about this problem. Dr. Rialta has replaced many switches for little or no cost.
