Default Just got a letter from my RV Insurer - Explorer RV Club?

Apparently they'll knock 10% off my premium at renewal, if I spend $47.25 and join the
Explorer RV Club. That would be a savings of about $30/year to me.
Anyone know anything about them? Do you use them?
They say they do ERS, but I've got that with CAA RV Plus.

Thought someone might have known something.
I found an older post (by you) on Canadian Camping locations and it had each campgrounds CV
and most mentioned "Explorer discounts", but it seemed like the places were all in BC (go figure?).
I was just wondering if anyone has been with them, and what they're like overall.
I also decided thirty bucks is thirty bucks, so I may go ahead and join, even if they're
not very good or useful. I tried googling "reviews" "pros and cons" about them but couldn't
find any independent commentary on the web. I was concerned that signing up with them
might start a deluge of solicitations from some of their associated RV outfits.

My RV insurance is due soon, and they advertise an ERS service through Explorer RV Club
that is C$85 (probably plus tax), if included with my renewal.
I sent email asking what's included for $85 but am still waiting for an answer both from my
insurer, and Explorer.
With the GS ERS jumping from US$79 to US$112 this year, I'm hopeful that I can
tap this new ERS for a nice discount.
I'll post up what ever I get as info and what I decide when I get some answers.

Unless someone else on here uses Explorer RV Club ERS?

I have been a member of the Explorer rv club for several years, you get a nice magazine every 2 months. The discounts at campgrounds, vary from campground to campground. I live in On, Can. and there are many campgrounds offering discounts. Some rv dealers give a 10% discount on anything you buy. that comes in handy.

I haven't taken out their insurance, but have considered it.

I haven't had any solicitations from anyone else as a result of joining.
Bob.

Hi Bob,
I'm in Ontario, Canada, too.
Have you ever bought/used their Emergency Road Service? Is it included with the club
membership or (do you know) is it extra? As I said, I'm looking for a basic ERS package
for under $100. When CAA went to $172/year for RV coverage, I switched to Good Sam
ERS last year. It's now increasing from the introductory price of US$79 to US$112/year.
My insurance renewal came in a few weeks ago and I'm looking for information on
Explorer's ERS. They said I could get it for $85, but with absolutely no details, so I
waited for Good Sam's renewal, but when I saw their price increase I decided to shop
again.
I've sent them email, but no answer, and that bothers me. Maybe they don't do weekends?
That could be a problem, if their ERS is as restricted in it's hours of operation.

I got all the info and it is cheaper for me to stay where I am at Good Sam ERS for $112/year,
than to switch to Explorer RV Club at around $45 annual membership dues + around $143/year
for the class B and 2 passenger vehicles. Even with a 10% discount on my annual insurance
premium of $700, I'm still a few dollars ahead of the game staying put. I also compared what's
included with the ERS, and GS ERS has a slight edge on overall services, in my opinion of course.
Good Sam doesn't require a GS RV Club membership to get ERS, while Explorer does. That's
the main difference, and the reason for the price difference.
I'll check it again next year around renewal time.
