Default Mercedes 2016 Sprinter 3500 Chassis Specifications

The new Mercedes Sprinter 3500 2016 Chassis are available for order. I'm curious what new features are available? There's not much posted online yet. I'm hoping (and holding out for) crosswind assist, which I believe is now standard in the 2500.

All 3500 Sprinters are DRW's except for the ones with the newly available super single option.

Edit: the super single option cuts the GVWR on the van so it's not the answer for an RV

So is the cross wind assist never going to be available on DRW vans? I spoke with an Airstream dealer and apparently the 2016s are not shipping until November and the Airstream dealer won't start building on them until January. This confuses me a bit since I thought most years the chassis is a year ahead of the model year. For example, I bought my 2014 Interstate which was built on a 2015 chassis. Right now the 2015s are being built on 2015 chassis'. And now the 2016s are being built on 2015 chassis. Should we see the 2016 chassis before that or is this normal?

Cross wind assist most likely will not be on the 3500 because MB seems to think it is not needed since the dually wheels give a lot more stability.

I ordered my 2015 last May and it arrived in September. I took possession of the conversion in January 2015 and it was deemed 2015 for chassis and conversion. The Advanced RV that went out just ahead of me was built on a 2013 chassis. There are no rules about converter year vs chassis year. Usually a converter has to make a commitment in advance for models and there is commonly a discrepancy in chassis year vs converter year.

As for any major changes to the Sprinter don't expect anything before 2018 or 2019. Then there will be a major design change. They will also be manufacturing them in South Carolina.

You've got it backwards. The chassis year can be a year, or more, behind the RV year. Back in the 2009-10-11 time frame Winnebago was building 10' and '11 coach years on 2008 chassis. We had a 2009 Itasca that the chassis had sat in WGO's storage lot for 16 months before the coach was put on it. The chassis was manufactured 10/2007....
