Default Mercedes-Benz Class Action Settlement Approved

On July 12, the U.S. District Court for New Jersey, gave final approval for the class action settlement with Mercedes-Benz and Bosch centering around the Blue-Tec Diesel Engine. If you are eligible, a current owner or lessee, didn't already opt-out of the settlement and haven't already applied for your portion of the settlement, which would be at least $2,816.75 and as much as $3,515.00, you have until October 1 to file. To determine if you're eligible, check out www.mbbluetecsettlement.com

The Court Findings for the July 12th Fairness Hearings are also at the above website under "Important documents". There were 18 objections to the settlement and all were over-ruled. With regards to the Bosch settlement, the Court found that a fair settlement would include 25% of the Bosch payment proceeds to Class Action members being deducted for remuneration to the Class Attorneys.

To claim the refund the emission control system must be updated, additional benefit is extended emission warranty.

If you’ve had the emissions modifications performed and have submitted all the required paperwork, is there a timeframe for distribution of settlement funds that anyone is aware of?

Thanks

YES, go ahead and get the AEM if you have a Sprinter.... there's only good things from this... reimbursement check and extension on the warranty.

Thanks, we have had the modifications performed and sent in all required documentation- months ago. Does anyone know the timeframe for distribution of the award money?

I think it is about fall this year. See this extensive thread in the Sprinter forum with many details. Over 1K posts.
