Default Mercedes/Winnebago Era window

I have a 2018 Mercedes Winnebago 170A. I overtightened the 'crank' on the window on the sliding door and now the window won't close tightly - and ideas?

Contact Winnebago, as it's probably a window upfitted by them.

I also have 70A 2019, I use a Philips screw driver on the inside crank and open the window all the way and they closed it. In my case the plastic crank handle/knob stripped just a enough so it slip did not close it at the snug part...

3 of our cranks have failed. Common problem. My husband found the part that needs to be replaced (the operator) aka gear box, after much searching and phone calls from www.mobilehomepartsstore.com. 910-277-7202. Part number WCM#812. “Jalousie window center mount operator”. It was $9.99 plus S&H. It took him 30 mins to change it out. He has now ordered 7 more as he assumes all will fail.

One thing I have found that helps is to keep the jalousie window gaskets lubricated with a bit of oil. I found they like to stick when closed and this put a lot of pressure on the opening mechanism.

Can you tell me how he was able to remove the "gear box" from the rod to replace it?
