Question Need something to hang on to while moving

Often need to go back in to cabin while moving to:
Check on 16 year old dog
Find out which cabinet is rattling
Use the bathroom
And it is dangerous…..would love to install a handle or something to grab on to
Any ideas appreciated ..something that won’t damage RV

Welcome to the forum Donjackw!

First of all, being up and around while moving should be avoided at all costs. But I'm going to assume you already know that and you only do it at very low speeds.

That being said, I can't think of anything that would make it easier. In fact, I'll go so far as to say if you can't lean on the counter in the already very narrow aisle in a class b, then making it easier might only encourage walking around while moving which would put you more at risk.

I know you are right and I’m old enough to know better, but thought if had a handle to hang on to I could navigate safely. When something rattles, I need to be able to check while moving, but still I know you are correct..

A quick stop is worth the potential injury.

Make sure someone else is driving during your excursions to the rear.

Using the bathroom while bouncing down the road should provide you with a few campfire stories.

Be Safe.

Default Suction cup handle?

Could you mount one of these somewhere?

I think many people would be surprised how many people use the bathroom, go to the frig for something, even use the microwave while driving. DW will occasionally but only if we are at low speeds and no traffic.

My uncle and aunt were long, long, time Winnebago club members and always had medium size class A's. They pretty much treated it like they were home, moving around at will. I actually saw them switch drivers at 65mph on the highway one time and was mortified. They thought nothing at leaving Minneapolis after work on Friday and driving to places like Kentucky for a Winnie Club rally and then come back Sunday evening for work on Monday.

Do what we did in the EMS world in ambulances. Run a stainless steel tubular bar along the roof line to hold onto while moving or standing. Boating places usually sell the SS tubing (deck railing) and holders. It is a little expensive; however.

I think I might try this suction idea if I can find space on our tiny counter. Many thanks.

I have had one of these for use in the bathtub area for years. Basically you can't count on them to hold you. I'm a scrawny female and it easily pulls off...

Those things really stick, we have two of them that we used when we replaced out windows. No problem carrying 200# windows with two of them and two people. Just make sure everything is clean and smooth.

The also make single handle versions for limited spaces.

This very problem is how I learned to accept, and even appreciate rattles in the back of the van.
