Default New Roadtrek 190 & 210 Simplicity

Roadtrek will officially announce the introduction of two new Class B models early in the new year. The 190-Simplicity and the 210-Simplicity will be priced lower.

Quote:
Enjoy Roadtrek quality and design ingenuity in these two new lower priced models that have all the basic functionality you expect in a class B without all the “bells & whistles” of fully equipped Roadtreks.
I think this is a great idea.

Here’s a summary of the primary differences between a fully equipped 190 and 210 Popular and the new 190 and 210 Simplicty:
The awning is optional.
One house battery instead of two.
Carpet & mats in cab are not available.
The BBQ quick disconnect is not available.
Laminate counter tops instead of Granite.
Fabric on side entry doors not available.
Ground effects on door panels not available.
Home theatre system with 5.1 surround sound & dual centre speakers not available.
The 210-Simplicty will have a standard microwave oven and 3.8cu ft fridge. (210 Popular has convection microwave and 5 cu ft fridge)
The 750 watt inverter is not available.
The 210-Simplicty will not have the standup aisle shower – it is sit-down in the bathroom.
Side rails in upper front area and overcab storage cabinet will be vinyl wrapped plywood instead of solid wood.
The stove will be surface mounted instead of recessed.
There will be only one dining table but it can be used in the front or the rear.
TV is optional.
They won’t have the Winegard TV antenna.
Only one water fill location.
Fresh water tank will be smaller (22 gallons).
Coffee maker is not available.
Bumper covers are not available.
Rearview backup camera is not available.
Rear window defroster is not available.
The engine will be the 4.8 L SFI gas V8 (213 kW/285 HP) but you can upgrade it.
Underhood light, compass on dash not available.
Manual adjust mirrors.
Basic AM/FM/CD radio.
Cloth seats.
LX & SE packages are not available.
Minimalist striping.
Rear locking differential not available.

It looks like they may start at around $70,000 US from what I've seen on the web.

Some of the "doesn't haves" would actually be our preferences.

Would be neat to see them up close and personal. Once you see them with the changes it would be really interesting to discuss. And while I'm
"wondering", I wonder what the cost of the new/old type Roadies will cost? Sure love mine....especially lien free, ha! Safe travels.

It would have been nicer to see the extra seat adjacent to the toilet/bathroom used
to extend the bathroom and maybe create a wet bathroom and shower area.
Realistically, how many people would make use of 4 seats on a regular basis when
camping? 3 might be useful once in a while, but we have one and rarely use ours.
I think they missed a golden opportunity there, to give people something more useful,
which didn't require a lot of technical add ons, just a reallocation of floor space, and
some cabinetry/woodworking, imo.
It's still our main RT pet peeve, the aisle shower just doesn't work for us. I've already
decided to buy another brand that has a full, when we decide we're done with our 190,
it's that big of a deal.

We showered and filled up at the Pilot Truck Stop in New Braunfels in March last year.
We'd been to Austin, and then headed south as we were looking for a truck stop to wash up.
I don't recall seeing the dealership, but we may have, although after we were cleaned up I
think we headed northwest away from it, towards Lubbock and then on to Amarillo on our
quest towards I-40 and then on to Grand Canyon.

I recall seeing maybe 2 or 3 Roadtrek dealerships in North America while we've
been out on the road. One was near Quebec City on Hwy 20 (the Trans Canada?)
and it was clearly visible from the highway and was near a Travel Info ? centre.
http://www.roulottesrive-sud.com/
Lot's of Roadtreks on the lot.

There was one near Punta Gorda FL also on that trip, too. Can't recall too much about it
but it had more than class B vans, it looked like it had lots of inventory, like Camping World.
I tried googling it, but can't find it. We crossed the bottom of Florida from east to west, after
a brief stop at the Everglades NP. I think it was off the main highway (93/I-75)possibly on hwy 41
or 45 just off the Interstate. We were heading north to I-75 to leave Florida after we bailed on our
plans to visit Key West. We were just about fed up with really heavy traffic, or we might have
stopped for a browse.
Ooooops, sorry, pardon the digression.

Mike, would that be the dealer on the East side of US 41 at Nokomis, North of Port Charlotte.

Hey Deryck, long time, no chat?
I haven't gotten around to processing that film from my photographic memory yet.
It was a nice looking dealership as I vaguely recall, as we were just trying to get back
to the Interstate, and got caught in what seemed like rush hour traffic. We sort of
knew our way back but got lost off the highway in the pre-GPS days. I think my wife
wanted to see what Oscar Scherer SP was like, and I can't recall if we found that either.
You're down around there still, then? Probably right about now?

Hi Mike, Yes we are down 'here' and we have been here since late November.

Just like last year, we have had some real cool nights! What is Florida coming to? Global warming indeed!

Hi,
I know, eh? I browse the Unisys North American infrared temps map every day, and there just aren't any consistently
warm areas on North America, except the extreme southwest corner of Arizona, and Florida from about Orlando
south (even northern Mexico gets below 40F regularly).
How've you been? I guess you know we've been pretty much below freezing now for approaching 2 months.
We finally got some decent snowfall here in Niagara about a week ago, and except today which is above freezing,
our forecast is for cold, cold, cold.
I've got an inverter/charger upgrade in the works, although I was waiting for the weather to improve a bit
before I can take it to the shop that can do it. After that, we'll be about ready for a trip south. If NASA could
just decide when the next shuttle launch is going to be, we'd set our schedule to match that event. Looks like
it's going to be another night launch, and we would like to catch one more before they mothball the program.

Take care, maybe see you down there if all goes according to plan (ha!!!).
Mike.

Hi Mike,
I can personally assure you that SW Florida is not immune from the weather antics. Once again new low temperatures records have been established.

You are going to notice it when you go to the grocery store as 100's of acres of veggies were destroyed as well as the citrus crops being damaged.

I know what you mean re the shuttle, getting the old birds to fly right is becoming a challenge. I see that they did solve the cracking problem in the main booster tank.

Take it easy and if you do get down here we will be here until March 21st.

It's been below freezing up here it seems for going on 2 months now. We got spared a
lot of the snow, but except for Tuesday past and New Years weekend, we've been in the deep
freeze.

I guess NASA got cocky after plugging the leaks in the main tank.
Just saw they added a 3rd (final?) launch end of June. If we can, we'd
like to see which ever launch is after dark, as they are absolutely
amazing. That would be April 19 @ 19:48 if NASA plans are to be trusted.
However, if we get this last mod done to the van, I'll be itching to get
out and tour, so the February 24 launch isn't off the table yet.
Won't know for sure until February.
