Default OBD2 Bluetooth

Anyone have a recommendation on a OBD2 Bluetooth scanner that has proven to work on the early model Chevy Roadtrek with an android phone? I took a gamble and bought a cheesy blue ELM knockoff for $4.00 hoping I would get lucky. Would rather use my phone than invest in a scangauge at this time.

If you have found one that works please let me know the exact model.

Thanks

Veepeak is good about customer service and they may just give you a discount code if you email and ask

on my 2005 chev the OBD port stays energized- I bought this cable with a power switch inline

it also keep me from kicking the dongle with my big feet when setting the parking brake

This on a '97 Chevy P30 chassis and I use Android. Works a treat once paired.

On TDY in windy Walden, CO.

have it working - appears to be no oil pressure and/or trans oil temp - unless there is some PID programming necessary - still digging into this...

I use an OBDLink MX Bluetooth with the ODBLink app (for my Honda) and the FORScan app (for my E150 van) running on an Android phone. The setup is reliable and gives me all the information I need. Using the Windows version of FORScan I can modify parameters in the Ford modules. (I have changed the TPMS thresholds and disabled the annoying "Welcome light" feature.

Did you have to do anything special to get the tranny temp to work? I have added it but no activity? Maybe I am missing something...

Menu

- add display

select display type, I use digital

next

select colour

next

in display configuration, click on PID

next window takes you to PID

select USER DEFINED PIDS:

scroll to tranny temp

click done

if after doing this you don't get tranny temp, I wonder if your ecm is sensing that or making that available.
- my chev chassis is 2005
