Default Pleasure Way - Yahoo group?

Do many of you belong to the Pleasure Way - Yahoo group? We haven't taken possession of our new Ascent yet, so do not have a serial number etc to join. Is it in your opinion one of the better web based information groups to join? Or is there another?

Hey Sheral

I wasnt aware of the PW yahoo group. Will have to check it out. We just took delivery of our 2016 Lexor 3 weeks ago. First trip this weekend. Good luck with your Ascent.

There is a Facebook group for PW owners. I tried to join it but I was denied entry as I have a Roadtrek. Sheral, they might let you join if they know that you have one on order.

The Facebook Pleasure-way group is a very active group. They have over 600 members.

I have learned a lot from the Pleasure-Way Group. Well worth joining. Responses to questions are usually very fast.

You have a Pleasure-Way, you have already met their standards. Also, have your VIN number available as they ask for it.

We don't put all those restrictions on joining, nor do we employ the "thought police" tactics of some of the large groups. See the link below:

Ron,

I appreciate that your groups are not like the PW groups. Thank you!

The highly restricted Pleasure Way sites are a disservice to the company. At one time we were very interested in a PW and wanted to join the Yahoo! group. My request was denied by the moderator, Bobbi. Was told I needed to be a PW owner to join. I then explained we were interested to learn from current owners about pro’s and con’s of the two specific models we were interested in and to help decide on which floor plan and options.

She replied that the reason they restrict the group is due to trouble they had with spam messages. Give me a break. PW owner's emails are subject to spam...what's the point. I have belonged to the View/Navion Yahoo! group for nine years and the moderators there know how to control spam…and that’s with over 7,000 members! In those nine years I only recall a handful of spam issues. We got suspicious there was more to it than the spam excuse for being so restricted.

Since we could not communicate with current PW owners in a public forum we decided not to pursue a PW…after all there are other options.

Interesting. When I owned a Pleasure-way I was a member of the Pleasure-way Yahoo group and the Facebook group. As soon as I traded my Pleasure-way in I was removed from the Yahoo group. I am still a member of the Facebook group. Both I guess are run by Bobbi. I know Yahoo has a lot of auto and RV groups that require a VIN to join. I don't know if that is universal, Yahoo policy or just custom in that environment. Some members see it as a forum where they desire only to discuss with fellow owners. On the Pleasure-way RV Facebook group I only post there with my knowledge and experience of previously owning a Pleasure-way or generic RV topics, never about what I currently own nor do I get critical about Pleasure-way as I have been known to do so here citing my decisions for not buying another one. It's their house and party. Respect it.

I prefer houses and parties where I'm welcome.

Ha. But nothing like crashing a good house party either!

We don't own an RV yet, but PW looks like the most likely purchase for us (in 201. Yet I was denied entry into the Facebook PW forum. I have 100 Facebook friends and am an active Facebooker, not a scammer. I messaged the forum hostess but got no answer. Are they really totally uninterested in folks who haven't (yet) purchased a PW?

Yes, they will not allow anyone who does not own a PW

Try emailing questions to them directly. I have and got fast and informative responses. Not unbiased I guess but at least from the company.

From my research so far Pleasure-Way seems to be a top-tier builder and has won awards year after year for what that is worth.

We belong to the PW Facebook group. Great group of people and a ton of information available there. There are people in the group that do not own PW’s yet, so check it out

If you go to a specific manufacturer's group you are only going to get one side of an opinion. Here you will get everyone's opinion. There are some Facebook groups for Class Bs that are not manufacturer oriented but not many.

There's more than one PW Facebook page. The one titled "Pleasure-Way RV Group" is closed...owners only. Same with their Yahoo group.

Both moderated by "Hot Bobbi". I contacted Bobbi when we were VERY serious about buying a PW. I asked to be added to the Yahoo Group so we could ask owners questions about the model(s) that we were interested in buying. She was not welcoming at all...said I had to buy one before I would be accepted into the group. Not a good first impression.

We took our business elsewhere!

The yahoo forms are a drag to navigate and with yahoo it isn;t very secure- as they have shown- they also display users real email addresses- so if joining use a junk email address.

the knowledge base there is limited to PW and sometime very limited.

the forums is not run by PW officially, although they may participate- I have asked specific questions there regarding very specific features and had no authoritative reply...just helpful guesses

I have gotten better advice opinions and experience here.

that said- I am very very happy with my choice of a 2006 PW Lexor on a chev.
My block also has a PW excel on a ford and a brand new PW model- I like mine the best of all 3 and mine was...the least expensive!
