It is not really a bleed valve as in the normal sense as there is no need to bleed anything out.

More commonly called a "spit valve" and is used to tell when the tank is at max allowable level so it doesn't get overfilled. Stop filling when liquid starts to come out.

On our 07 the overfill protection valve trips off the fill before the spit valve pushes out liquid.

So is there any valve that should be oprned to fill the thak. other than the fill valve.
When I was re-placing my system someone commented that before letting the propane place fill your tankthere are thing s that ned to be done.
So. I guess my Q is
Do I just pull up to the the propane place and say fill'er up.
OR
Is there sonething I should do before they start filling the tank?

Nothing to do but have you wallet open, although it is probably a good idea to watch make sure they open the spit valve and watch it. The only real time it is needed, on tanks that have an OPD valve, is if the OPD valve failed to shut off the fill on time.

In some places that fill the tanks, it can be adventure to get to the tank, backing up because of the location of the fill port and the relatively short length of hose they have. U haul that is closest to me is very crowded and you wind up across one of the internal paths of vehicles.

Don't forget to make sure all your propane appliances are turned off, and the outlet valve of the propane tank is closed. And, yes, make sure the attendant uses the spit valve. I had a fellow overfill my tank once, and it was venting propane for days.
