Default Question for Allstays users

We recently got, finally, Allstays on my Android phone, which we also just got recently, so behind the times.

Is there a way to set the search location off the map itself? The type in and manual off a list of cities works great, but it would be very handy just to tap the map at a spot and have it search around that point. It seems like an easy way to get a quick look at what is where we are headed, before we get there to use the current location search.

Is this possible? The only way I have found is to find a close location that it can find, and then scroll from there.

OK, I think it does do it, but I wasn't waiting long enough at the chosen point on the map. I had set it down for little while and when I looked again it had populated it.

On the ipad, at least, you can scroll to anyplace and shrink and expand and the map will update showing all the POIs. The distance shown to any of the POIs is a crow fly distance from your current location, I don't see a way to set a new point away from your current location for the distance measures.
