Default Rapido/Roadtrek Westphalia

I just watched and video tour of the 2025 Westphalia and it is interesting to be sure. Lots of nice features and modern look.

Two major downsides for us would be the Firefly that looks like it controls everything (too many eggs in one fairly unreliable basket, I think) and the cassette toilet. I would also prefer it on a Transit.

Of particular interest was the claim of a new Roadtrek 600ah lithium system that replaces the Ecotrek system. Very few details that I could find, but did see some comments about it being another in house design, which may or may not be good.

Not cheap at $170K+, though, but no Roadtreks are.

Nice camper van, could be great for young family except the price. Questioning the price, why Jame Cook Westfalia based on Sprinter chassis is about $70K less.

See EU prices which include 19% VAT

It is basically the same system that they have been tweaking since 2015 when they delivered one of the first to me that never worked at all... and they agreed to switch me back to AGMs.

It is far from as glitchy as it started and the majority of the owners like the new 600ah system once they figure it out. It still has a learning curve... not exactly plug and play. Rapido has made lots of improvements. This is now the standard system on the Zion line. I think only the one Sprinter model still has the 400ah system.

I agree with you about the Firefly... or any of the other screen style systems that most of the RVs are using now. Yes, it is handy to run stuff off your phone from in bed, but when they have a problem, suddenly all you have is a nice van with furniture.

These were all “no gos” for me also..
The Transit AWD/Promaster FWD Dilemma is ongoing, and one just has to make their choice.
Roadtreks record on power systems is questionable, and I never owned one, and don’t have the alliegance, or see the logic for the price premium.

The Airstream Rangeline looks like the way to go in this segment of the market to me.
