Talking Replacement Carpet for Express 3500

Trying to drum up support for Auto Custom Carpets. Please fill out this form if you are interested in replacing your faded carpets and they will make a mold if there are enough requests. I don't want to buy one from the dealer and the options and quality ACC offers is great (extra thick plus extra sound dampening material).

PS: select "CHECK HERE IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR VEHICLE"

What year of Chevy is being discussed? The front cab carpet in our 07 Chevy Roadtrek 190 was some living room type carpet that Roadtrek put in over the original "rubber"/plastic factory floor cover and pad. I don't know if GM even offered a carpet option in the them, but I have never seen one listed.

The factory floor cover and pad on ours was cut back around the sides so that the Roadtrek carpet could tuck under the door steps and such.

By the time you added the Roadtrek mats made out of the same living room carpet, you had 3 layers that were so think they could limit the accelerator pedal and brake pedal travel very easily.

We replaced it all with a layer of hushmat type rubber, 1/2" insulating pad, and new carpet made from rubber backed entrance mat material. We also switched to normal Chevy van aftermarket foot mats. We have been happy with it that way for many years now.

Try auto custom carpets or amazon & eBay. I searched everywhere for a 2006 express van carpet.. only found at the dealer sites.

I have the same year RT but 210. I think the carpet & floor mats are original. There are pictures of these on the Chevy parts sites but no color photos.
Thank you! I was wondering if we could just install regular carpet, I didn’t know if it was flat or formed for the curves in the floor. Sounds like a good solution.

Using flat carpet will work fairly well, but as you say the floor isn't flat so it is a challenge to get it to lay out as well as possible. I had to do a lot of "selective" padding to smooth the raised areas of the floor, along with making sure the side steps, seats, and engine cover fit over the carpet well to help hold it down tight. Spray adhesive is necessary for certain. Ours looks good and works very well, but certainly isn't dead tight to the floor like a molded carpet would be.

We used rubber backed mat material, and it was quite thick and springy, so if regular vehicle carpet material without backing was used it likely would be easier to get lay down and have the adhesive hold it there.

Worst areas to deal with are the footwells and trans bump at the engine cover. There is also a quite high wire harness run that goes right across the van between the seats.
