RoadTrek 210 Shocks

Any recommendations or experience for shocks on a 2013 Roadtrek 210? Are they the stock Chevy Express 3500 or are they unique to Roadtrek?

I have had Bilstein shocks on my 2006 210 for 10 years. They have worked well.

Yes, much better. Better performance and will last much longer also. I think you can even get them at Autozone, which is surprising.

To address part of your question, has it been determined that the 210 uses the same chassis as the the 3500? If so, it probably uses the standard 3500 shocks.

I bought Koni FSD's and like them immensely after 3 yrs. & 30K miles. They are very pricey, but I selected them specifically because they are NOT gas-charged. My theory is they possibly ride a bit smoother since they don't have to overcome the initial compression resistance of gas charged shocks.

When the Koni's arrived, I was appalled at how easily I could compress them. But those fears were unfounded as they must contain a "secret-sauce" that controls compression and rebound, eliminating any secondary jouncing. The ride of a laden Express 3500 will never be plush, but the Koni's provide excellent control.

I have the ‘15 210, installed the Bilstein’s and it does make a great change. The stock Chevy Shocks are not really well suited for the added weight of the RT equipage.

We have also had the Bilsteins for about 10 years and they have been very good, IMO. No issues at all and do a very good job of improving the control and handling of big bumps.

Just to muddy the waters a bit, I installed KYB MonoMax shocks on our 2000 200V just before selling it. We took a short 1500+/- trip and I was really impressed with the ride and especially the control.

On TDY at the fairgrounds in Bonners Ferry, ID.

I used the bilsteins on my chev 3500 based pleasure way Lexor ( narrow body) and posted my experience.

Bilstein 24-221948 @ $86 each for rear


I am a hobbyist with jacks n stuff


the front was easy..no time at all.


the rear was difficult because of all the "RV stuff" I had to work around and a number of trips back to the tool box for an adapter or a different type wrench
