In the video they did say a black tank would be an option. Whether or not that comes with the rotating bowl is another question; I think the rotating bowl + some type of flip-up/moveable sink makes such small bath work better.

I agree. Plus, it's moveable as wincrasher pointed out, or even REMOVEABLE if going on a short trip where it is unneeded. Personally, I think a toilet (and a shower for that matter) in a "B" are for emergency use only, or when other facilities are not available. The lack of a black tank could also allow for MORE gray or fresh water (or other uses) under the rig.

Not that you asked, but our feeling is just the opposite. Never having to use public restrooms or showers may well be #1 on our (long) list of things that are great about B-vanning. N.B.: we are not at all germaphobes. It is purely an aesthetic issue.

Yeah, I get it. There are a WHOLE LOT of public facilities I don't want to use either. Having a bathroom part of what makes a "B" a "B". When you need it, you need it. I just hate using up too much valuable real estate for a very important, but (for me), seldom used function. But, as always, everyone has there own priorities, which is why there are so many different models. Which is a very good thing. I'm excited to see something new..

I honestly don't think that any of the upfitters have tried very hard to solve the bathroom footprint problem. For example, I don't see why I can't flip a switch and have a tiny bathroom accordion out into the passageway and reconfigure into "shower" mode. The fold-away potty is a good start, but there is a lot more than could be done. For that matter, why can't my whole galley fold away when I am not cooking? With a little cleverness, a lot of wasted space could be squeezed out, and a lot more of the available volume could serve double-duty.

The upfitters should hire the guy who designs those "Transformers" toys.

I thought the Rialta (and some old roadtreks) aisle bathrooms were brilliant, I wish someone would start building them again in these bigger vans. I know some think they are inconvenient, and they are, but some of the tiny ones are barely even usable.

Ok, check out the "transformer" bath on this Rapido V55. Click on the video and watch how the closet folds out of the shower, so you can use the shower, but make a large bathroom. Intriguing.

Very good point. I saw this setup on a Rialta - it was manual and slid very smoothly, with little effort.

To me, adding a motor often add complexity and something else to break down over time. However, a motorized lift on a bed - like in the Safari - makes sense; do not need to stress the back more than necessary.

I guess someone could also "flip the switch" the other way while you're in the shower. That would be interesting

Looks like a little low cost market research to me too. How about Securetrek or maybe Alarmtrek or ???

I was also thinking if Hymer took over and switched to using the Hymer brand name that Mike, if still around, is going to have a lot of work switching everything over to Hymering. Might be good for him to grab Hymering: The Group on Facebook just in case...
