Default RV Cover

Hi. I am looking for a good RV Cover for my 1997 PW. Do you guys have any recommendations? I am in South Texas, so protection from sun and rain are the priority.

Thanks,
Mark

I have seen B covers at cabelas.
I decided not to use as i am n and out of the thing all the time and didn;t want to worry about water getting trapped in....fungus, mold bugs

Here in AZ I use a $99 with coupon on sale harbor freight 20 x 10 "carport"- the legs need extending to clear a B.
one side of mine has 9" legs attached to the roof of the house...so I could use extra leg sections on the other side, taking it from 6' to 9'

the HF covering lasted 2 years in the AZ sun and then started to degrade.

I have replaced with sunbrella type fabric, I am more concerned with sun damage/heat than rain., the nice thing is that it doesn;t threaten to fly away as the solid canopy did.

I do have a 20 x 10 solid canopy is reserve, should I try to use it.

the costco 20 x 10 is about $220 and the frame is much heavier/sturdy. the covering too- but will only last so long.

this comes with side panels

I have to agree that a roof of some sort is going to preserve your rv much better than a cover. Getting a cover on and off is ridiculously hard too.

The primary issue with covers is that they can scratch and erode your paint when they flap around in the wind. Any fabric exposed to the outdoors will accumulate windblown grit, and then it's the grit that does the damage. If you even have a windshield bra that is held in place partially along the lower edge (cab doors) by little magnets, you can typically see the scratches begin to develop around the magnet areas if you use it often.

So says other forums where this issue has been discussed. I can't speak from direct experience as we have never used a cover.

Texas is often cheaper than much of the rest of the country in many respects... have you thought about renting a storage bay?

We're in Galveston County and we rent a fully-enclosed bay with extensive security and electricity included, for $135 per month. We recently did a partial cord-cut in which we dumped DirecTV, dumped the old Verizon FIOS broadband service (which had become Frontier in Texas), downgraded a cell phone plan, and bought an Xfinity bundle that includes broadband and limited cable on just one TV in our house... all of those changes ended up saving more money than we are spending monthly on storage for our Class B.
