Default RV Financing

We've been looking at various financing options for a new or relatively new RV. What we have found are rates around 7-8% which isn't stellar but seem to be par for the course.

What recommendations do y'all have for financing? Companies to avoid?

(I could have sworn I found a place for 5.5% but didn't bookmark it ....and probably was an ad where I needed to put down 95% to get that rate.)

In the process of selling my 25" Trend now and asked my credit union about what they would finance. Book value of $72,450 and would loan 80% of that ($58K) for 10 years, but not sure of their rate. Asking $69K, so person would need to cover the $11K difference to purchase.

We purchased a couple of weeks ago and used Huntington Bank. The rate at the time was 6.74

My credit Union was advertising 2.49 boat loans two years ago. I walked in and asked if it applied to RVs. While rates are up you might to shop out of the box.

Default One aspect to financing...

If you have any thoughts of renting out your RV, like Outdoorsy or similar networks, make sure your lender and insurer do not prohibit it.
